The writer Samuel Beckett went into hiding in Roussillon from the Nazis Germans during the WWII years of 1942-1945. His novel Watt was written there, and Beckett mentioned the village in his famous theater play Waiting for Godot (En attendant Godot), 1955. [via Wiki]
